Black Women Film! developed as a new initiative for media arts and film professionals after the successful launch of the VisualEyes Film Camp.

Created by Ella Cooper and Reel Youth, in partnership with the Nia Centre for the Arts and Children's Peace Theatre. With support from the Ontario Arts Council and the Canada Arts Council.

Below is a sample of the work produced by participants in this filmmakers camp.

ANGAER AROP

Video self-portrait by Angaer Arop. In 2015, Ella Cooper approached Reel Youth and the Nia Centre to support in the creation VisualEyes, Film Camp for Young Black Women. This project offered a unique, Afro-centric film and video camp for young Black women based in the Greater Toronto Area.
