BLACK WOMEN FILM! TEAM

Black Women Film! began as a leadership film program created by Ella Cooper with support from TIFF -  Toronto International Film Festival , NFB- National Film Board of Canada, Nia Centre for the Arts, CFC - Canadian Film Centre, CBC and an incredible group of Black women filmmakers. Funding generously provided by Canada Council for the Arts and Ontario Arts Council.

   Ella Cooper  Founder of Black Women Film! Canada  Ella is an award winning filmmaker, impact producer and multimedia artist. She is also an experienced creative facilitator, arts educator, community programmer and consultant who has worked in Canada's arts and culture sector for over 17 years.  Ella has receives continued project support from both the Canada and Ontario arts councils and has been presented in galleries, public spaces and film festivals around Toronto, Vancouver, Berlin and Calgary as well as on the CBC and Bell Fibe TV1.  Ella has a Masters of Media Arts Education, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in New Media and extensive training in creative facilitation and yoga. She has created a multitude of empowering, holistic and creative community centred programs for diverse groups across Canada, the United States and South Africa. She is also a part-time lecturer at University of Toronto Scarborough  She is currently short film Dance for Life has recently made official selection in multiple north american film festivals this year.
