This Fall Black Women Film! Canada is back with another amazing industry opportunity for Black female-identified film and media creators! We are bringing together a cohort of 13 Black women filmmakers to navigate the festival as a group and receive fully subsidized passes to the 2024 TIFF Industry Conference, with access to special industry events, networking opportunities, and select screenings during TIFF, one of the world’s premiere film festivals. 

This years program will be lead by esteemed director Laurie Townshend and is geared towards filmmakers with up and coming in the field and new to the festival

Be a part of A SUPPORTIVE COHORT OF BLACK-IDENTIFIED Women movers and changemakers in film, television, and media arts FROM ACROSS CANADA! 

This exciting opportunity is open to Black women-identified film and non-binary media artists who are actively involved in furthering their careers the industry in their own way and have created at least one film or media arts project exhibited in a professional or pre-professional context and who can illustrate why they would benefit from attending the festival this year. Programming will be held during the week of the Industry Conference and on select dates throughout the Festival between Sept 6 - 12, 2024

Candidates must be able to commit to all conference dates, morning check-ins and select Happy Hour sessions.

Application deadline is August 25, 2024 at midnight. We will be accepting people based on eligibility.

Successful applicants will be notified by August 26, 2024

*Candidates who have already attended the TIFF conference with Black Women Film are not eligible for this opportunity. Black Women Film does NOT cover travel or accommodation expenses of any kind but welcomes Black Women and Girls from across Canada to join us.
