This Fall Black Women Film! Canada is back with another amazing industry opportunity for Black women-identified creators working in film and media! As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure that our programs are reaching across Canada, we are bringing together a cohort of 15 Black women filmmakers to navigate the festival as a group and receive fully subsidized industry passes to the 2023 Vancouver International Film Festival, networking opportunities, and select screenings during VIFF, one of Canada’s premiere film festivals.

Be a part of A SUPPORTIVE COHORT OF BLACK-WOMEN-IDENTIFIED movers and changemakers in film, television, and media arts FROM ACROSS western CANADA!
This exciting opportunity is open to Black women-identified creators working in film and media who are actively involved in the industry in their own way and have created at least one film or media arts project exhibited in a professional context* and who can illustrate why they would benefit from attending the festival this year. Programming will be held during the week of the Industry Conference and on select dates throughout the Festival.

BLACK INDUSTRY PANEL Tuesday, October 3rd, 2:30 pm -3:30pm
ALOPECIA SCREENING by Janessa St. Pierre: Thursday, Oct 5th, 6pm @ Vancity Theatre
UNION STREET SCREENING by Jamila Pomeroy: Saturday, October 7th @ The Rio
Black Women Film! Canada 2023 VIFF Film Festival Access was created in partnership with the Vancouver International Film Festival
Application deadline is September 18th at 9:00 am. We will be accepting people based on eligibility.
