Black Women Film! Canada wants to take you to the Toronto International Film Festival Sept 10 - 16, 2026!

This fall Black Women Film & Media Canada celebrates it’s 10th anniversary with another amazing industry opportunity for Black women-identified film and media creators! We are bringing together a cohort of 15 Black women filmmakers, producers, writers and director of all levels of experience to navigate the festival as a group and receive fully subsidized passes to the 2026 TIFF Festival & Market, with access to special industry events, networking opportunities, and select screenings during TIFF, one of the world’s premiere film festivals. 

This years program will be co-hosted by Sabine Daniel, Vanessa Magic and Ella Cooper

This exciting opportunity is open to Black women-identified film and non-binary media artists who are actively involved in furthering their careers the industry in their own way and have created at least one film or media arts project exhibited in a professional or pre-professional context and who can illustrate why they would benefit from attending the festival this year. Programming will be held during the week of the Festival and Market and on select dates throughout the Festival between Sept 10 - 16, 2026

Candidates must be able to commit to all dates, which will include morning check-ins, screening, VIP events and select Happy Hour sessions. each year participants are also expected to document their experience on social media to share with our broader community as aN IG collaboration with @bwfcanada

*Candidates who have already attended the TIFF conference with Black Women Film are not eligible for this opportunity. Black Women Film does NOT cover travel or accommodation expenses of any kind but welcomes Black Women and Girls from across Canada to join us.
